Shaving

Here in I’m going to show you a few basic facts that I’m sure you’ve never knew about shaving and how to shave properly. Shaving, in general, is hair removal by slicing it down with a razor to the skin level. As you probably know, both men and women are using shaving for hair removal. Men are shaving to remove their facial hair whereas women shave to remove their leg and underarm hair.
Basically there are two types of shaving:
Wet Shaving
The wet shaving can be done by either of the two types of manual razors: straight razor and safety razors. Safety razors are further subdivided into double-edged razors, single edge, injector razors, cartridge razors and disposable razors.
Double-edge razors are named so because the blade that they use has two sharp edges on opposite sides of the blade. Cartridge razors are the most expensive type
In the twentieth century, Gillette razors were the most common. Double-edge razors are currently readily available and are manufactured by Kiwishaver in New Zealand, Parker in India, Feather in Japan, Hart Steel in the United States and Weishi in China.
In this type of shaving, a lubricating agent should be applied, such as soap, cream, shaving gel, shaving foam and so on. The moisture helps to prevent razor burns and of course makes the shaving more effective by softening the hairs.
One of the major disadvantages of the wet shaving is the cuts and the razor burns. To eliminate the cuts , wet shaving is generally done in more than one pass with the blade. The goal is to reduce the amount of hair with each pass, instead of trying to eliminate all of it in a single pass.
Here’s a cool video that shows how to shave legs using the wet shaving method.
Electric shaving is performed by an electric razor and usually preferred by men. The electric razor consists of a set of oscillating or rotating blades, which are held behind a perforated metal foil that prevents them from coming into contact with the skin and behaves much like the second blade in a pair of scissors. When the razor is held against the skin, the whiskers poke through the holes in the foil and are sliced by the moving blades.
In general, electric shaving does not require the application of moisturizing cream.
The major disadvantages of the electric shaving are that it may not cut the whiskers as close as wet shaving does and it requires a source of electricity. The advantages are fewer cuts in the skin, quicker shaving and no need for a water supply.
As you probably convinced by now, shaving is basically fast and cheap method for hair removal. Even though, it doesn’t last long (1-3 days) it’s pretty common if not the most common method. You are welcome to read more about shaving by clicking here>>

If we want better results, then definitely a good idea is to go for wet a shaving rather than that of electric shaving. However, if we are on the rush and we really need to shave, then it is a good choice to consider electric shaving.
