Some people always laugh at me when I mention I always prefer the natural look. They’re saying that if someone prefers the natural look then he/she should not be using any makeup at all. Well, this is not correct. Of course, your most natural look is when you’re not applying anything, but does it mean that you wouldn’t also remove unwanted body hair? Or you wouldn’t shape your eyebrows? Of course not! And why is that- because you want to look beautiful, feminine, to emphasize the things you like about you the most. So, are you getting my point? Natural looking make up is only to highlight your strengths such that you still look the same but a lot prettier. Herein I’ll introduce you some tips on how to maintain your natural beauty with a simple make up procedures.
- Tip #1:
Natural makeup is the kind of makeup you can use on a daily basis, when you go to work, to school or even for the gym. It may be very simple and contain very few basic ingredients. The important thing is that you should decide on what works best for you and what you’re going to apply for your natural look and what not.
- Tip #2:
Try moisturizing your skin every day before applying any makeup. I personally prefer using one that is also a sunscreen, SPF 17-30 is good enough if you’re not going to the beach or doing anything that involves too much sun in it. The moisture will protect your skin and make it more vivid.
- Tip #3:
If you’re using foundation, use it only if and when necessary, i.e underneath the eyes or around your nose. Foundation is usually being used on a bit red and oily skin, only if it’s noticeable compared to the rest of your face.
- Tip #4:
Concealer should be applied only if you have black circles around your eyes, not an everyday usage, not for me at least. I personally use it only when I go out, but it definitely can be used for the natural look you’re seeking. If you’re using concealer, try not to smear it on your skin as if you’re trying to erase your black circles because that may cause you wrinkles. Instead of smearing it, try to gently blend it on your skin with your ring finger or a sponge.
In the following video you can see how use concealer:
- Tip #5:
I prefer using powder for my natural look instead of any kind of makeup. Powder may actually prevent you skin from exposure to dust and dirt and it actually gives your skin this great matt smooth texture that I like.
- Tip #6:
I forgot to mention before, but it’s really important to shape your eyebrows to a natural shape as well to support your natural look. I love to highlight my eyebrows with a brown colored powder or an eyebrow’s pencil. Always try using three shades lighter than your hair color.
- Tip #7:
I personally don’t like using eyeliner for my natural look, but I know many do. Therefore, it was worth mentioning that for natural look try not drawing any shape for your eye, other than your natural one. Eyeliner may give your eyes a totally different shape but that’s not what we’re looking for in a natural look.
- Tip #8:
Mascara is a very important element in a natural look and actually in any other look as well. I love it! It highlights my eyes and gives a certain light to my face. This is a must have in your every make up! You may curl your lashes first before using, I personally don’t do that on a daily basis.
- Tip #9:
Using blash will give you a natural looking glow, it’s a must have in every natural look. Try to adjust the blush to your skin color such that it won’t look too pink or too red. Apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks, smiling might help, and a little bit on your chin and forehead.
- Tip #10:
I prefer using pinkish lip gloss for my natural look, the one that is almost transparent with a slight pink color in it.
In the following Michelle Phan’s video, in which you can get a more info and tips on how to look natural:
I personally love the natural look makeup, it takes me less than 5 minutes and the result is fabulous! For my natural look, I prefer using only powder, mascara, blush and a lip gloss. This way I get the best natural look makeup and its fast and easy
.
what’s your natural look makeup?
