Everyone likes to have clean and smooth skin, but when it comes to scars that might be a bit problematic.  No one likes to have a certain white mark, especially on the face. Therefore, scars should be removed. It’s possible (almost) to remove every scar. There are many ways to get rid of scars, some of them natural, which involve massages and taking care of the wound. Some of them involve taking severe steps. It all depends on scar type and the scared area on the body. Herein I’ll represent some major scar removal methods, some you may even try at home. It’s important to remember, though, that before using of any kind of scar removal treatment, it’s better off to discuss your dermatologist first.

  • Prevention

One thing for sure is that it’s much easier to prevent a scat than to remove it. Once a wound is formed, it should be kept clean and covered. The bandage will prevent from the wound to get dry and thus increase the chances to have noticeable scar. In addition, covered wound is less likely to get infected. An infected wound tends to be replaced by a severe scar.  Avoid picking at scabs and try not to exposure the wound into direct sunlight. Scars have less pigmentation, which in addition to a direct sun light may stop the healing process and leave a very noticeable scar.

  • Natural massaging

Using some natural extracts to massage your scar may speed up the healing process and make the scar much less noticeable. The natural extracts you may use to massage your scar are: Aloe Vera- these plants are easy to find. Just pluck one out of the branches, squeeze the gel out and apply it by massaging on the scar twice a day. Apple cider vinegar – mix 1-part Apple Cider Vinegar and 1-part water, then massage it on your scar for about 12 to 18 minutes before washing off. Cocoa butter- massaging cocoa butter twice a day may also help a lot in the healing process of your scar. Onion extract – should also be applied by massaging twice a day. Vitamin E - Vitamin E is very great for getting rid of scars. Vitamin E is oil. It should first be applied on a cotton swab and then be dabbed on the scar or wound. Afterward the area should be covered with gauze.

  • Natural diet

First it’s really important to remember that whatever you eat or drink immediately affects your skin. Get rid of any sugars and starch food you’ve got. Drink at least 12 cups of water a day. Drinking a lot of water helps for all healing processes that take place in our body. You may also include some honey and fresh tomatoes to your diet. Those might help in speeding up the healing process of your scar. Green leaf vegetable consumption is another good way for getting rid of scars and especially acne scars naturally. Green leaf freshens up skin tissues and body glands.

You are welcome to watch a few demonstrations of what written above:

  • Filler injections

Filler injections of Collagen can be used to raise atrophic scars to the level of surrounding skin. Some report on a temporary improvement.

  • Chemical peels

Chemical peels are chemicals which destroy the epidermis in a controlled manner. Once the epidermis destroyed, the skin exfoliates and thus allows an alleviation of a “new” skin. That might help only if the scar is not too deep. Found very useful in the treatment of superficial acne scars.

  • Laser treatment

Non-ablative lasers hypertrophic scars and keloids. This therapy smooths the skin by heating up and redistributing the collagen.  The epidermis is not damaged due to the constant cooling. Multiple sessions are usually required for a significant reduction in redness and improvement in the texture and pliability of hypertrophic scars and keloids.

  • Silicone

Silicone scar treatments are commonly used in preventing scar formation and improving existing scar appearance.

  • Steroids

A long term course of steroid injections under medical supervision, into the scar may help flatten and soften the appearance of keloid or hypertrophic scars. The steroid is injected into the scar itself; since very little is absorbed into the blood stream; side effects of this treatment are minor.

  • Surgery

By cutting the scar tissue out, a new wound is being formed. By using other methods such as silicone or silicone pads the wound may be healed now in an ordered kind of way such that the new scar will be less noticeable.

There are many other ways to get rid of scars but the key element here is trying to prevent its formation. Maintaining a healthy diet and consumption of liquids are important for many aspects of life not only for scar removal. Whatever unnatural scar treatments you may go for, it’s very important to consult your dermatologist first to determine the right scar treatment for your scar type.
