How to do a manicure in only 5 steps?
Actually it’s quite easy! I’ve been doing it for a while and it’s so much fun!!! If you follow these 5 steps you’ll also be able to get yourself a nicely looking nails and hands. Please remember that it might take some time to practice, therefore, be patient, try over and over again and you’ll see how your nails are getting better.
Step 1: Preparation
You should prepare yourself a flat and a clean surface, make sure there are no bumps or scratches that may interrupt your work. It’s highly recommended to put a towel on that surface just to keep it clean in case something gets spilled accidentally. In addition, try to remove any old nail polish using nail polish remover. Acetone will remove any old nail polish traces faster and easier but it also may damage your nails, try using it as less as possible.
Step 2: Shaping
File your nails using nail file. Try to create nice and smooth shape by filing gently the tips of your nails. Don’t use to much force because you may weaken your nails. If your nails are too long nail clipper to shorten then. Be careful not to shorten them too much, always leave some space for filing. in addition it is highly recommended to buff your nails. Buffing evens your nails surface and smooths out ridges if there are any.
Step 3: Cuticles
Soak your hands for 5 min (each hand) in a bowl filled with warm water and a few drops of soap or cuticle remover. Soaking will remove any dirt from your nails and soften your cuticles. After you’re done soaking, dry up your nails and apply a cuticle remover cream (unless you used a cuticle remover in your soaking). Gently push back your cuticles using cuticle pusher. Don’t cut your cuticles! This may cause infections! Wipe off your nails in the same direction of pushing.
Step 4: Nail polish
Nail polish should be used only on dry nails, therefore try to wipe off any cuticle cream leftovers before applying your nail polish. Take the bottle of your chosen nail polish, shake it really well and warm it up a bit by rubbing using your both hands. Open the bottle, remove the brush and slowly swirl the brush around the inside rim of the bottle to remove excess polish. Paint your nails using thin coat. Try not moving your nails while doing that or the polish may smudge. Wait for the first coat to dry and then apply the second coat. Always use two coats when painting the whole nail with the same color (i.e – not a french manicure). You may finish using a clear top coat for faster drying and to maintain the nail polish longer on your nails.
Step 5: Hand massage
After both coats had dried, apply some hand cream or a lotion and massage it into your hands. Rub around your nails, be careful not damaging you nail polish, let it soak for a few minutes and that’s it! You are ready to go!! Enjoy your lovely looking nails!!!
